Each part of the service, checked from Syria.

Core useWorks

A tester in Syria reported that basic Bixby voice commands on a Samsung phone worked: opening apps, calling a contact, and searching the gallery. Complex and multi-step requests were refused; this account comes from the reporter's text, not from a screenshot.

AI featuresFails

Asked an information question in Syria, Bixby answered "Sorry, this service isn't currently available in Syria" instead of giving a result, so its assistant answers could not be used.

Frequently Asked Questions

Partly. The core use of Bixby works in Syria, but something else about it fails or has not been checked. This page lists what works and what does not.

Many international services blocked access to Syria due to previous sanctions and compliance policies. Even as sanctions are being reviewed, some companies have not yet restored access. Unblock Syria tracks these services and advocates for change.

You can help by voting on this page to show demand, sharing it on social media, and contacting Bixby directly to request they restore access for Syrian users.
