High-vote services get prioritized for outreach
Partially blocked in Syria. Community testing in February 2026 found the storefront loads but launching any game triggers a country restriction that signs the user out, so cloud gaming itself is unavailable. In March 2026 the team contacted Microsoft, naming Xbox Cloud Gaming for a corporate-level compliance review. No resolution yet.
Contacted Company
Official outreach email sent from corporateaffairs@unblocksyria.com to eccn@microsoft.com. Xbox Cloud Gaming was explicitly named alongside LinkedIn as a Microsoft product with Syria restrictions requiring review. The email argued for a single corporate-level compliance review.
You can help change this. Syria's political situation has changed—all sanctions have been lifted. Many companies just haven't updated their policies yet. If you work at Xbox Cloud Gaming or know someone who does, share our resources with their legal or compliance team. Sometimes all it takes is one person asking the right question.
Tips for advocating: Reach out to legal, compliance, or policy teams. Reference the lifted sanctions. Point to competitors who have already unblocked Syria. Every voice matters.
