Emirates Islamic customer care replied to the volunteer's request without addressing the Syria block, asking for the message to come from a registered customer email address or through its call center.

A second community volunteer wrote to customercareunit@emiratesislamic.ae asking the bank to reassess its blanket block on Syrian IP addresses, and noting that the restriction also cuts off UAE-resident customers travelling to Syria temporarily.

A community volunteer emailed Emirates Islamic asking it to review the block on Syrian users, noting that the United States removed Syria from its state sponsors of terrorism list in August 2026 and that remaining measures target named individuals. This is the first outreach to the bank.
