Following the European Union's nineteenth sanctions package, in force since October 2025, the company wound down and told users to withdraw their balances before January 5, 2026, after which withdrawals were handled through its support channels only. A community report on July 28, 2026 found payeer.com unreachable, with a domain lookup showing the last recorded address in February 2026. The service is therefore discontinued rather than blocked for Syria specifically.
