A community volunteer emailed Monetag at contact.us@monetag.com, dpo@monetag.com and pr@monetag.com requesting that the platform open publisher registration to Syria. The email set out the 2025 US, EU, UK and multilateral sanctions changes, noted that Monetag's own terms allow it to change its country policy at its discretion, and argued that its existing per-account trust and safety screening already handles bad actors without a country-wide restriction. It also asked the company to align its payout rails so that verified publishers in Syria can be paid. This is the first outreach to Monetag.
- 2026-06-21 — Investigated. Community testing confirmed that Monetag restricts users in Syria. The monetag.com site loads and the publisher sign-up form is fully accessible, but selecting Syria as the country during registration triggers the message «Unfortunately, our service is not available in your country», which blocks account creation.
