## About

Platform for capturing buildings in 3D and sharing them as interactive virtual tours and digital twins, using cameras or a phone.

## Activity summary

Matterport is blocked in Syria. In October 2026 its AI support assistant answered a community request by saying Syria is IP-blocked to comply with US Treasury trade regulations.

## Progress timeline

- 2026-10-13 — Company Responded (Community Updates). Matterport's AI support assistant replied to a community request that Matterport applies IP-based restrictions blocking access from Syria to stay compliant with US Treasury trade regulations, and offered to connect the requester with a team member.

## Context

These are geo-restrictions the companies applied themselves, not filtering by Syrian ISPs and not a legal requirement. US and EU sanctions on Syria were lifted in 2025. See https://unblocksyria.com/llms.txt for the regulatory summary and https://unblocksyria.com/en/about for citations to the specific orders and regulations.
